International sailing regatta in Greece «Rodos Cup» 2017

"12 knots" invites you to take part in the international sailboat race in 2017 «Rhodes Cup».

This sailing race is traditionally held from 18 to 25 July 2017 and attracts more than a hundred amateur and professional crews from all around the world. Regatta «Rhodes Cup» can be listed among ten most popular sailing regattas in Mediterranean Sea. The race is usually starts from Kos Island with few stops on Thylos, Sumy and finishes in Rhodes. Sailors from different countries arrive to participate in a race in one of the most beautiful waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This sailing race is more an entry-level, yet it provides plenty of opportunities to experience true racing drive and improve your sailing skills. By no means Rhodes Yacht Club hospitality played and important role in making this sailing event so loved by sailors. There is a special event and entertaining program organized by yacht club every evening right after the race finishes.

By taking part in this sailing race you will gain a unique opportunity to get new sailing experience under the supervision of the professional instructor.

Nisyros is famous its volcano, which is right in the central part of the island. You can easyli reach volcano by renting a car or a motorbike right in the marina area. Almost all of the island's steep slopes look like steps. These steps were created bt ancient islanders, which used them as plant beds and to prevent cave-ins and landslides.

During the whole sailing trip you will be guided and trained by professional skippers and sailing instructors.
This all-custom Farr 42 is a strong contender in both round-the-buoys and long-distance races, as well as a comfortable and stable vessel for offshore use and moderate cruising. Designed by Farr Yacht Designs and hand-built by professionals. She has been constantly cared for, maintained and upgraded. Major improvements include all new exterior paint, new navigational and race electronics. This racing boat has a carbon-fiber bowsprit (NEB) and running backstays (Hall) to increase upwind and downwind sail area.

Rhodes international airport (RHO) is located on the northwest side of the island 15 km from the base. From the airport, taxi trip takes 15-20 minutes.


Flights & transfers

There are number of daily domestic flights on Olympic Airways and international charter flights by Aegean Airlines, Rhodes. Charter flights are also available from many European cities.

Transfers from the airport to the base are not included. However, we can help to arrange transfer by special request. Please inform us of your requirements at least 2 weeks prior to the first date of your sailing vacation by filling an appropriate form (number of guests, flight number, time and date of arrival).

All visitors must have a valid passport or an IC for European citizens and onward ticket.

  • EU Citizens: For the citizens of the EU, no passports are required. An ID is enough. There are no currency limit, customs formalities and vaccines required.
  • Non EU Citizens: For the citizens from counties other than the EU, a valid passport is required and for the visitors of some other countries, a visa is obligatory. There are currency limits and customs formalities. For more information, contact your embassy.

Currencies & Money Exchange

  • In most ports Visa and MasterCard are accepted by shops in the small towns you are likely to visit, but American Express is rarely accepted. It is a good idea to have some cash available. It is possible to exchange foreign currency or travelers Cheques in bank located near the Harbor Office.
