Spanish cuisine

It's not surprising, given its extensive coastline, that Spain offers every imaginable variety of seafood. In almost every mooring or marina you will find an offer of Pescado Frito (fried fish) made with the freshest catch of the day or internationally acclaimed paella (it's ingredients include round rice, meat, fish and shellfish).

Although the cuisine is varied with a huge array of seafood, superb meat and a harvest of sun-ripened fruit and vegetables, the tapas (potato croquettes, usually filled with ham or cod), often accompanied by a glass of sherry or beer, may have gained the most popularity among tourists.

Sailing conditions

Spain offers great navigation conditions almost all year-round. In its warm and tide-less waters sailing is rather easy and in most of the regions yacht charter season can last as long as you want. Summer is always warm, with comfortable temperature from 22C (67F) to 30C(88F). Sea temperature only exceeds 26C in costal waters, making it easier to refresh yourself from the board of your yacht. Daily heat from the land creates an afternoon sea breeze perfect for relaxed sailing. Winter period from November to March can be rather chilly (10C to 18C), with strong steady winds and rough seas. This time of the year offers an exiting sailing only for experienced skippers. Although, even during this time there are periods of settled weather when relaxed cruising is available.
