Learn to sail on catamaran or monohull.

This program is ideal for those candidates who wish to become an active crew member on a power or sailing yacht or to learn how to operate small sailing boat

This course provides level of competence that someone needs to act as watchkeeping / competent crew on a yacht under supervision of a professional skipper. Size of the boat up to 78 feet long, during daytime in light to moderate winds, in protected waters where help is immediately available.

Upon completion of the course candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, basic sail trim, helm commands, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Auxiliary power operation.

GROUP

Instructor to student ratio is 1 to 5. You may enjoy private or shared cabin on board of monohull or catamaran in our base in Montenegro.

CRUISING COURSE

The Introduction to Boating and International Crew Course is a practical and professionally run program. It comprises of 7 sailing days and 6 nights aboard. You will be sailing in coastal waters during the day making small hops and learning the basics. Nights will be spent in comfortable marinas or at anchorages in some picturesque lagoons.

We usually go out for dinner ashore and enjoy the atmosphere of the local restaurants in a Marina or on a beach, depending on our location. These are the meals not included in the price. All other costs like mooring, safety equipment, fuel and such are covered in the price.

At the end of this live aboard cruising course you have small to mid-sized sailboat experience, ready to learn the techniques for handling larger sailboats and bareboat cruising.

LIFE ON BOARD

A cruising monohull or catamaran will become your home and classroom for the next several days. Three or four cabins, main salon and galley area, hot water showers, swim deck and shower, spacious cockpit, and all necessary equipment for safe successful boat handling. (facilities on board are shared).

Your sailing courses will be on board of a 44’ monohull. You may choose to learn in one of our bases located Montenegro (Tivat).

You may enjoy a private or shared cabin. Singles and couples will be paired with others in the same course. Single occupancy is also available. We may also offer private sailing courses for two or bigger groups (up to 5 people) upon the request.

Sailing means living in close quarters so please try to travel light, please do not bring any hard, big suitcases with wheels that are difficult to store. A backpack or sports/duffel bag would be the best. Some recommendations on what to bring aboard:

Tivat Airport is located 10 minutes away from our base in Tivat, Montenegrro. The easiest way to get there is by car or taxi. Average price per taxi (4 people) is about 10 Euro for one way.
