Koh Samui Sailing Cruise on a Catamaran
Sailing tour introduction
Sailing Cruise Itinerary
**This is a sample itinerary. The actual itinerary may be adjusted by the captain or the service provider due to weather conditions or other reasons.
Day
1
Koh Samui
Check-in at base, and embarking at 17.00 (5pm).
Day
2
Koh Tean
Set sail to our first overnight anchorage at Koh Tean, nestled on the island’s southern side. While this scenic beach is a favorite for daytime visitors, it transforms into a peaceful retreat by night, surrounded by lush greenery and mangrove forests—an ideal spot to unwind and disconnect. Though Koh Tean attracts day-trippers from Tong Krut Beach on Samui, its trails remain wild and untamed. Ashore, you can wander through the mangrove forests, discover hidden caves, or snorkel along the vibrant reef encircling the island. A perfect blend of adventure and tranquility for your first night at sea.
Day
3
Koh Phaluai
After a refreshing morning swim at Koh Tean's picturesque beaches, we'll set course for Koh Phaluai. This sizable island - located just 5 miles south of Ang Thong Marine Park - falls under the jurisdiction of park authorities. While the eastern shoreline is strictly reserved for swiftlet nest harvesting (making anchoring prohibited), the northern coast boasts a stunning beach protected from southern and western winds.
We'll spend our first afternoon enjoying lunch at Koh Phaluai, with opportunities to swim or try various watersports from the boat - including snorkeling, paddleboarding and kayaking. As evening approaches, we'll cruise onward to Ang Thong National Marine Park, where we'll drop anchor for the night surrounded by breathtaking, unspoiled natural beauty.
Day
4
Koh Nai Phut
We'll cruise to Koh Sam Sao & Koh Thai Phlao for a midday stop, perfect for lunch and island exploration. This area is known for frequent (though not guaranteed) sightings of whale sharks and Irrawaddy dolphin pods. At Koh Sam Sao, don’t miss the striking natural stone bridge—wide enough to navigate beneath by dinghy. Nearby, two tiny islands are often connected by a sandbar, offering excellent snorkeling and your own slice of secluded beach (at least temporarily). A short trail leads uphill to a scenic viewpoint.
Koh Thai Phlao & Koh Nai Put form a cluster of small islands at the park’s northern edge—ideal for paddling among hidden lagoons (called 'hongs'). On the east side of the northern island, one hong is large enough to enter at mid-tide by kayak or SUP. We’ll close the day anchored overnight at peaceful Koh Nai Put.
Day
5
Koh Tao
Following lunch, we'll set sail for Koh Tao - a compact granite island north of the marine park, celebrated for its exceptionally clear waters. Our first night's anchorage will be at Mango Bay, the sole inhabited bay along Koh Tao's northern coastline. Though frequented by speedboats and dive vessels during daylight hours, the bay transforms into a peaceful haven by early morning and evening. Here you'll discover vibrant coral formations just beneath the surface, offering exceptional snorkeling opportunities in the bay's tranquil waters.
Day
6
Koh Pha Ngan
Today we set course for Koh Pha Ngan. While famous for its Full Moon Parties on the southeastern peninsula, the island's northern coast boasts peaceful white-sand beaches like Ao Thong Nai Pan and Bottle Beach - perfect stopovers when sailing from Koh Tao. We'll anchor overnight at Bottle Beach, a charming secluded bay accessible only by boat or strenuous hike. This picturesque cove features just a handful of small resorts, surrounded by swaying coconut palms and lush jungle - a true tropical escape.
Day
7
Koh Samui (Ao Chaweng)
Start your morning with a refreshing swim before we cruise to Haad Rin Rock on Koh Pha Ngan for lunch - home to one of the island's most stunning beaches. Following our meal, we'll set sail back toward Koh Samui, making our way to the final anchorage at Ao Chaweng. This spacious bay offers multiple anchoring spots and serves as our busiest stop of the week. Chaweng's vibrant strip, lined with endless shops, bars, and restaurants, provides the perfect setting for some last-minute shopping or celebratory farewell drinks to cap off your journey.
Day
8
Koh Samui
A short sail from Ao Chaweng to our base, with disembarking at 9am.

Customer reviews
How customer reviews and ratings work
We use the Average with Prior (also known as Bayesian Average) to calculate the total rating for each sailing cruise
Since new cruises could have very few reviews, each review can significantly impact the average score, potentially leading to misleading representations of the total score (e.g., one very positive or very negative review skewing the overall rating). To mitigate this, we use a "prior" or "default" score.
This means that each cruise, by default, starts with a rating of 4, which is calculated from 5 hypothetical reviews, each rated 4. This assumption provides a baseline level of performance that is neutral-to-positive.
For example, if a new cruise receives a 5-star review, the total rating will be adjusted to 4.17. Here's how it is calculated: (4 × 5) + 5 = 25 and then divided by the total number of reviews 6 (5 default + 1 actual review), resulting in 4.17
As more reviews come in, the weight of the actual reviews increases, and the influence of the prior diminishes.
