Introduction

Embark on a thrilling dive safari through the northern region of Raja Ampat, where the pristine waters and rich marine biodiversity create an underwater paradise. This area is famous for its vibrant coral reefs, teeming with life, and offers divers the chance to encounter everything from majestic manta rays and reef sharks to schools of barracudas and elusive macro creatures. Explore iconic dive sites like Cape Kri, Sardine Reef, and the remote islands of Kawe and Arborek, each offering unique and unforgettable experiences. Whether you're drifting through powerful currents or exploring tranquil coral gardens, a dive safari in North Raja Ampat promises adventure and awe at every turn.

Day 1 Sorong

Meeting at the Marina Star Café in Sorong Harbour at 7:30am, where we’ll have a coffee or tea and wait for all our guests to arrive. At 3pm we'll head for check dive at Waisai harbour, near Mioskon Island. Right after we'll sail to Batanta Island.

Day 2 Batanta Island

For today's dives, we’ll be on the lookout for Manta Rays and sharks, in places called Dayan, Karang Bata or Bibis - it all depends on tides and conditions, no two trips are ever the same. It’s really important for us to tailor our trips to the expectations of our guests, so we try our best to find what you are looking for.

Day 3 Fam Islands

Fam islands group can boast some of the best dive spots like: My Reef, Melissa’s Garden, Batu Rufus, Barracuda Rock and the viewpoint of Piaynemo. At these sites you’ll be able to see hunting Giant Trevallies, Rainbow Runners, Pygmy Seahorses, Hairy Squat Lobsters, never ending Staghorn Coral fields and a wall that seems to go on forever.

Day 4 Wofoh Island

Second half of the day we’ll reach marine park near Wofoh Island that offers beautiful wall dive and shallow reef, perfect for macro and nudibranchs hunting. Further north we’ll reach Chanel no. 5, a combination of slope, wall and some overhangs and small caves. Here you’ll be able to see Eagle Rays are really high, and the occasional family of dolphins.

For the afternoon you may visit traditional fishing village or do another dive, before we go for one of the best night dives of Raja Ampat, on the jetty of the Pearl Farm, hidden inside a lagoon.

Day 5 Kawe island

Today, we’ll spend our time exploring the waters around Kawe Island, starting with a dive at Eagle Rock. Afterward, we’ll move on to Black Rock for our second dive, and then return to Eagle Rock for a third dive, where the changing tides will transform it into a completely different experience.

At these dive sites, we’ll be on the lookout for majestic Manta Rays, sleek Sharks, schools of Fusiliers, Giant Trevallies, and the unique Black Coral bushes. The currents here can be strong, depending on the moon phase, so we’ll tailor the dive plan to match your preferences, ensuring a safe and thrilling underwater adventure.

Day 6 Arborek Island

A few hours southeast of Kawe lies a small island with hidden reefs. Guided by GPS, our speedboats take us directly to where Carpet Sharks, also known as Wobbegong Sharks, are often found. This area is rich in marine life, so we’ll also be on the lookout for Barracudas and Oriental Sweetlips among the vibrant corals.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit Arborek Island, where we’ll stroll on land and relax on the jetty, watching the local kids show off their swimming and diving skills.

For our night dive, we’ll search for the famous Walking Shark (Epaulette Shark) around the jetty. These unique sharks, about 50 cm long, can “walk” on land when trapped by tides or predators, offering a fascinating sight to end the day.

Day 7 Dampier straight

Raja Ampat offers vast variety of sites, depending on what you like. We can go to Cape Kri, Sardine Reef and Mike’s Point, or we can also jump hop to Chicken Reef, Blue Magic or LauLau which are all a short distance from each other. Dinner at Mioskon, enjoy some beers and a beach barbeque set up by the Chef.

Day 8 Blue Magic

After healthy breakfast we'll gear up for one more dive . It will be either Blue Magic to look for some more Oceanic Manta Rays and Grey Reef Sharks, or the reef of LauLau with its pinnacle.

Cruise reviews

Customer reviews for the company operating the cruise

How customer reviews and ratings work

We use the Average with Prior (also known as Bayesian Average) to calculate the total rating for each sailing cruise

Since new cruises could have very few reviews, each review can significantly impact the average score, potentially leading to misleading representations of the total score (e.g., one very positive or very negative review skewing the overall rating). To mitigate this, we use a "prior" or "default" score.

This means that each cruise, by default, starts with a rating of 4, which is calculated from 5 hypothetical reviews, each rated 4. This assumption provides a baseline level of performance that is neutral-to-positive.

For example, if a new cruise receives a 5-star review, the total rating will be adjusted to 4.17. Here's how it is calculated: (4 × 5) + 5 = 25 and then divided by the total number of reviews 6 (5 default + 1 actual review), resulting in 4.17

As more reviews come in, the weight of the actual reviews increases, and the influence of the prior diminishes.
