Diving & Snorkeling

The Bahamas offer best conditions in the world for diving and snorkeling. Each island is surrounded by coral reefs, the sea is extremely transparent all year round, and there is no need to wear wetsuit as the water is always warm. Under the water you can see pictures of marine life and colorful sea creatures: eels, ronoks, barracudas, stingrays, turtles, royal triggerfish, sea parrots and angelfish glittering in the sun, as well as many beautiful coral formations. There are also many ship wrecks and aircraft remains buried on the bottom, and you may find a train near Eleuthera. Some natives believe that even "lost" city of Atlantis lies not far from the Bimini islands.

Fishing

Clean water, slopes and sand banks surrounding the islands create a perfect spot for large-eyed herring fishing. Bigeye, swallow-tailed herring is easy to see, but it's hard to catch, so to finding the fish is only part of the success. This fish can be caught year-round, but the best time is April and May – the spawning season. These ocean waters around the archipelago look like "kindergarten" for stocks of blue and white marlin, dolphins, and tuna.
