Customer reviews

How customer reviews and ratings work

We use the Average with Prior (also known as Bayesian Average) to calculate the total rating for each fleet operator/charter company.

Since new companies could have very few reviews, each review can significantly impact the average score, potentially leading to misleading representations of the total score (e.g., one very positive or very negative review skewing the overall rating). To mitigate this, we use a "prior" or "default" score.

This means that each company rating, by default, starts 4, which is calculated from 3 hypothetical reviews, each rated 4. This assumption provides a baseline level of performance that is neutral-to-positive.

For example, if a new company receives a 5-star review, the total rating will be adjusted to 4.25. Here's how it is calculated: (4 × 3) + 5 = 17 and then divided by the total number of reviews 4 (3 default + 1 actual review), resulting in 4.25

As more reviews come in, the weight of the actual reviews increases, and the influence of the prior diminishes.

Oceanis 43
“Hands off this company!”
Hands off this company! The sailing vacation from Sat. 04.10.2025 - 25.10.2025 became a nightmare from the 2nd day, when we had to leave the unusable, health-endangering Oceanis 43 ADRIANE again. Because of the behavior of the company Mediterranean Yachting Holidays, and the prevailing mood to total failure! It is also obvious that the defects found, such as on this ADRIANE: Missing windows taped up with garbage bags, missing window frames where the whole boat like the seating area, upholstery and beds were wet and the whole boat smelled like mold, hot smoking batteries where oxyhydrogen gas was leaking, broken refrigerator and gas stove, torn down tied traveler, almost torn down used luffing fitting, broken compass, broken instruments, broken pulleys and blocks, broken fenders, burst sails etc. do not happen overnight! It is also not true, as later stated, that the company knew nothing about it! This gentleman of this company also tried to hide these defects from us by his urgent and fast boat handover and thus to cheat us etc.! It doesn't matter to this company that people could be harmed or die as a result of their irresponsible actions. These ships are not maintained, repaired or properly cleaned by this company! This company My Holiday doesn't care how the customers feel about these derelict ships! We were even presented and financially damaged! We were put in front of the corpse of a boat without compensation! In addition, we were insulted and threatened when we pointed out these defects and did not go out with this ship and left it on the 2nd day for safety reasons! In all probability this is a business model of this company? The company went even further and did everything they could to achieve this, with their tactics of attrition and provocation. They wanted to escalate the situation so that we would fly home! So that they could say we would have given them a replacement ship, but they just left! We lost our vacation in the process! And now the yacht brokers, charter companies, insurers, owners, etc. are cleaning themselves off, but collecting commission or money in return! This ship ADRIADNE should never have been sold to us and the previous customer by this company and the person responsible! I have been sailing for 33 years now (worldwide) and have chartered around 80 ships and taken hundreds of people with me and brought them home safe and sound! But I have never experienced anything like this before! That a company can turn a sailing vacation into hell! Therefore, as an injured party, I expressly warn against this company My Holiday and its yachts! See more reviews: https://at.trustpilot.com/review/myholidays.gr or https://share.google/HL4i4anidSTa8Zyvd Because these people walk over dead bodies! We also find it alarming that such companies are allowed to use the name of a well-known company, insurer etc. as a figurehead! Where people rely on this seal of quality! When we contacted the companies that award these seals of quality and sent them this case and past cases, we received the following written reply: "Apparently everything came together in your case and this may have led to an unfortunate compounding of the problem. Each individual case does not lead to the withdrawal of the logo, but to a red card, which means that the second case is "fatal". (The only question is how many cases or red cards do these companies need for this?) So this company, My Holidays, can continue to use the quality seal and sell their boat corpses! Because they probably sell these insurances? That's why you should no longer rely on these quality seals when booking! Because they are not even worth the paper! If you want to lose your vacation and your money, then book with this company!
