Customer reviews

How customer reviews and ratings work

We use the Average with Prior (also known as Bayesian Average) to calculate the total rating for each fleet operator/charter company.

Since new companies could have very few reviews, each review can significantly impact the average score, potentially leading to misleading representations of the total score (e.g., one very positive or very negative review skewing the overall rating). To mitigate this, we use a "prior" or "default" score.

This means that each company rating, by default, starts 4, which is calculated from 3 hypothetical reviews, each rated 4. This assumption provides a baseline level of performance that is neutral-to-positive.

For example, if a new company receives a 5-star review, the total rating will be adjusted to 4.25. Here's how it is calculated: (4 × 3) + 5 = 17 and then divided by the total number of reviews 4 (3 default + 1 actual review), resulting in 4.25

As more reviews come in, the weight of the actual reviews increases, and the influence of the prior diminishes.

“F Parkes and crew.”
Just returned home having had a wonderful adventure with Sailfleet. From start to finish, Sailfleet really make sure they have there best intentions for your sailing adventure. All the staff work hard in preparing your yacht. On board Induction was very clear. Engineer is only a phone call away, should you need information while you are out sailing. Yacht was very clean. No hiccups at all. One of the best sailing experiences we have had. I can certainly recommend SAILFLEET.

“I strongly advise against it”
We had a situation where while parking in Gecek marina we hit the anchor of another yacht, which left a few scratches on our hull. Yes, our fault, for which we have to take responsibility - no one disputes it. But the way the charter company behaved in this situation is difficult to describe in literary language. No sympathy, no help, they didn't even ask if anyone from the crew was hurt. The guys are only interested in money. They demanded that we leave the Gecek marina immediately and return the yacht, although according to the contract we should be in Fethiye the next day. They explained the demand by the fact that on Saturday they have the next charter and if the yacht was seriously damaged, they will not have time to fix it and will lose money. We tried to use logic and explained that the weather was not good, it was raining, visibility in the sea was not the best, strong wind. If the yacht, as they think, has suffered such damage, how will it reach the marina in such weather? But logic is not for these money-lovers. They sent their technician. He examined the yacht from outside, inside, photographed the scratches left by the anchor of the neighboring yacht on the hull, sent the photo to the company. The technician found nothing wrong, but they kept insisting that we return. We refused to risk it. Then they showed us the carrot: if you return today, you have a chance to get back part of your deposit, but if you return tomorrow, you lose everything! How this relates to the damage the deposit covers is an open question. Apparently scratches have the ability to grow over time. We didn't take the carrot. Then they used the stick. They said that since we refused to return, they would go to the police. And, indeed, the coast guard was sicced on us. First the guards called on the phone. The guys appeared sane, listened to us and agreed that going in this weather was not a good idea. I don't know if the Coast Guard communicated with the charter after that, but, after a while, the guard came to the marina by boat. They looked at us, at the boat, talked to the captain, said there were no complaints and quietly departed. The only thing, they asked us to return to the marina early so that they would not be stressed again. On our return, as we expected, no one dealt with the scratch. They put the yacht on a free place, drove the boat around, looked at it, rubbed it with a rag, took pictures once again and left. Some time later another yacht came to the free place, so it was impossible to get near our board. The yacht as it was was given to the next client. All the deposit was taken away. We were simply sent to the request to provide a damage calculation. They said that it would be ready in a few days. All questions, for example, and why you decided that the repair will cost exactly 2500 euros, remained unanswered. They just took our money and sent us away. The most frustrating thing is that there are no complaints about the service staff. They know their business, really respond, explain, help if necessary. In a word, well done! But the owners... If you want to avoid spending unnecessary money and nerves, my advice - look for another campaign. Anything can happen in life, no one is insured, so if suddenly you even slightly damaged something, be prepared to forget about your deposit. Think carefully, do you need it? Is it worth dealing with SailFleet? I don't recommend it.

“Money scam”
2024 rented a catamaran June 2024. Have been a regular customer for many years but this year was amazing. Gave a discount, upon coming to Marina the goal was to retain as much as possible. Deposit, which was done. Argument dangling screws, overgrown with barnacles. We have been skippers for 15 years, we take the technique very seriously - it is safety. But this is the first time that we went wrong on the motor and the screws were loose and held 1 thousand euros. In general with this company this year is the last, do not risk . Think about booking or not

“Serious lack of maintenance to the point of being dangerous for a family charter!”
Serious lack of maintenance to the point of being dangerous for a family charter! NO STERN LADDER! This was a serious issue for me and my family, especially for my 13yr and 10yr old children! Boarding the boat from the sundeck was almost impossible for me and a total no go for my wife and kids. I stopped my children from swimming for the first 3 days until a ladder had been added to the boat. I received some excuse about it being put on the wrong boat! Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the height of the sundeck over the water made it impossible to pull yourself up out of the water and I have no idea how I would have performed in a Man over Board situation with this serious safety issue! Paddle boards with no safety leg strap! NO KILL CORD on outboard! Just too dangerous for words! A zip tie had been used (which looked like a permanent feature) so I refused to use this for the first 3 days - I complained and a killcord was brought out to me along with some other repairs including the ladder). If I had fallen out of the tender there is a serious risk that the boat could go into a turn and I would received a propeller blade to the head over and over again! Broken Fridge Door - which would not close (unless you used a special technique) and therefore caused food to perish quickly. This was again a lack of maintenance and abuse! Generator and AC unit broken! the generator would run for 60 secs before the Exhaust over heated and then cut out...causing battery power issues as well as NO AIR CONDITIONING! The generator was finally fixed after day 4, so that the AC would run...however there was no AC in any cabin! I discovered the reason for this on the final day, the pipe that came off the AC Unit had been taped on and had pulled away due to a poor repair and lack of maintenance!
