“The Excess 11”
The Excess 11 is a great boat. It was just the right size for a crew of two. I like having the dual cockpits near the water. It's very easy to control while anchoring and attaching to a ball. The lack of an electric winch isn't too much of an issue, just a bit more exercise. Bring a portable table lamp for the aft outdoor dining, there's no light out there. Oh, and no A/C, if that's your thing don't get this boat. Great service from the folks at 12 Knots and DYC. Very nice to have a pilot in and out of the tight marina and fuel dock and convenient provisioning from Paradise Foods delivered before we arrived.

“Great trip with a few disappointments”
Check in and check out was well organized, and overall my group had a great trip. The boat was well equipped, the weather was beautiful, and we all had a fun 5 days. That being said there were a few disappointments. We were surprised by the condition of the pads on the bow of the boat, which were concealed by a bean bag, obviously placed there for that purpose. There was also a missing pad up top that reduced the areas for lounging. It seems these items could be easily replaced/repaired. With 8 people on board the missing lounging space was noted. We also paid extra for an internet device, as some of us needed to check in on work periodically. The device never worked, and when I asked for a refund, I was denied. The cost of the device was not the issue, but good business practice would be to refund the cost of the inoperable device.

““Paid for Air Conditioning, Got None — Very Disappointing Experience””
I am extremely disappointed with my experience booking through 12 Knots with boat from Dream Yacht Charter. We specifically rented a 5 + 1 cabin catamaran (5 sleeping quarters) for a family of three solely because it offered air conditioning, which was a non-negotiable requirement for our trip.
Unfortunately, we were only informed on the day of departure that the air conditioning was not working. This left us with no real options, and no meaningful attempt was made to provide an upgrade or comparable alternative. For a premium booking like this, that level of service is simply unacceptable.
In addition to the lack of air conditioning, we also had to endure a putrid odor coming from the bathrooms and a navigation screen issue, which further impacted our comfort and confidence during the trip. As a result, we did not sleep on the boat for 2 nights.
To make matters worse, the compensation offered was less than 20%, which feels completely disproportionate and unfair given how far the experience fell short of what we paid for and were promised.
I had hoped that 12 Knots would place a higher value on customer experience and long-term relationships, but this situation suggests otherwise. Very disappointing overall, and I would strongly caution others to confirm critical amenities before booking.

“Beautiful experience”
We did a family, week long sail, chartering a monohull from Dream Yacht Charters. Everything worked perfectly, BVI as a great place to sail, June weather with typical steady winds and finally the boat - just 2 years old Sun Odyssey 410. Arrival from airport, check-in, briefing went smooth. I did not need to contact the base even once since all worked as it should. I recommend chartering with DYC, btw planning the next trip as we speak!

“The 12 knots”
The 12 knots crew were great. The boat needed more pre-departure work. In particular, the batteries could not hold charge, which required running the engine unnecessarily just to charge the batteries Also, the companionway doors did not stay open due to faulty magnetic door holders. Overall it is a nice boat, and the main engine and rigging systems performed well. The cleaning and set up was very nice

“Super helpful staff and enjoyable trip!”
We had a great trip! The boat had some minor maintenence issues, so it wasn't perfect, but it worked in all of the ways that we needed it to. The staff was helpful if not a little busy. Chart briefing was great and really appreciated the base manager. The facility itself was limited in what it offered but everything that they did offer was clean and convenient. When we had trouble finding an anchorage, the base manger was very helpful.

This 42 foot catamaran was suffering from lack of maintenance .
the sump pumps in the port side showers did not drain the shower pans and they had standing water the entire 10 day charter.
we were told was normal , of course it is certainly not.
There was also a very nasty refrigerator on the deck.
The first day of our charter when we discussed the itinerary that we intended to explore, we were very heavily pressed into an alternative itinerary, which resulted in our motoring four or five hours into the wind the first day.
the itinerary we requested would’ve sailed with the wind up the west coast of Guadalupe. It became apparent why this was pressed upon us went after provisioning the boat we discovered three marine batteries in the salon that were to be delivered to another Boat on the island that we were advised that we should sail to the first day. This actually ended up costing us three days of our charter going to islands that we didn’t care to go to and didn’t particularly enjoy. I don’t believe I would charter from this company again yes, there was a tiny bit of a language barrier, but I’m certainly experienced enough to know when I’ve been manipulated .

We had a week long crewed cabin charter from Phuket in a Lagoon 620. The crew (skipper, chef, and deckhand) were all excellent and worked really hard to make sure we had a great experience. The boat itself was in decent but not excellent shape - we took some heavy weather one day and a lot of the cabins (including ours) experienced water leaks.
The staff and crew out of Phuket are really good, and we felt very well taken care of.

We were on 60' Catamaran and from day 1 our room smelled like sewage. It was disgusting. When we were anchored with cross winds it was fine with windows open, but in Marinas it was horrible. One night I had to lay up top of the boat to start the night. The captain attempted to help with little improvement. I'm convinced the plumbing was done wrong. DYW needs to do better and should

Understand from talking to airport taxi driver the owner is very , very particular on maintenance and guest satisfaction. Price is way too low comparatively.

Five stars but fifth star wouldn’t light up on my phone. Boat was clean and ready to go. A few minor issues with the boat but being a long time boat owner, I know it is nearly impossible to get all system working at the same time. Basically, the boat was great.

“Great experience with DYC; boat was not fit for charter.”
Working with Dream Yacht was a great experience, and Julia was more than helpful.
Our concerns started when we picked up the boat. The manual bilge pump was not working, a boat key was not provided, the dinghy did not have a plug, one reefing line was not tied off, others were tied inside of the bag lines causing issues as we raised the mainsail.
A line on one air conditioner unit ruptured causing salt water to fill the hull on day two...which may not have been an issue, only the bilge pump itself stopped working. It was obvious the pump had been worked on prior to the charter, as there was plumbing tape, plastic, etc. in the bilge. As we did not have a manual bilge, we had to empty using buckets.
The company responded quickly to any questions, and technicians were able to address the issues. We ended up losing at least half a day to the issues, and were compensated for it.
Overall, great experience with DYC but the boat was not safe nor was it ready to for charter.

“It was lovely!”
It was a lovely trip! Thanks for your assistance in getting us transport when the ferry was cancelled. Only comment I can make is that it was a bit awkward with the other 3 passengers being marginally English speaking, but there were 7 of us that were.
It would also be helpful to remind the folks that are chartering that the weather can make it a different itinerary that published, no fault just a reminder.

“Not really a Drama Charter!?!?”
1. Boat Maintenance:
* The seals around the window in the port cabins let water in
* The hatch strut in the salon was broken
* The outside table was broken by a previous charter and was not secured properly.
* One of the stove burners wouldn’t ignite, and there was an issue with the gas spark on the larger burner.
* The Genoa frequently got stuck under the roller
* The main sail was very difficult to use as it would not come down when all the clutches were open and sheets loose
* The starboard engine was slow to start due to battery.
* There is a small water leak in the port engine compartment
* The macerator in the aft port cabin’s toilet was broken and need repairing.
* The dinghy was replaced when we arrived as it was broken with a much smaller dingy and the engine gave us issues from the start, when we returned the first thing after docking was the dinghy was exchanged for a better one (which by the next morning looked to be going flat already)
2. Supplies & Readiness:
* One of the gas bottles wasn’t full when we departed, which was frustrating as we had to look for gas.
* Battery Issues: We believe there was something wrong with the battery. Even though we barely used the boat’s electrical systems (just charging phones, no lights or laptops), the battery didn’t last overnight, and we had to run the engines frequently. This shouldn’t happen under normal circumstances and added unnecessary hassle.
3. Cleanliness:
* Unfortunately, the boat wasn’t as clean as we had hoped, and we had to spend time cleaning it ourselves before we felt comfortable.
4. Safety Concerns:
* The seal on the hull escape hatch under the stairs seemed to need attention, when we were at sea there was water coming into the boat

“NOT LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS”
Our cruise started on August 10 ended last August 24. The first phase of the check-in was done in another boat which although similar, was still different from ours while for the second phase which was aimed at checking the equipment, instruments and all other on-board facilities in our boat, we were given just 15 minutes. This was unprofessional and did not allow us to immediately point out some critical issues that could have come up earlier and been solved on the day if both phases had been carried out in our boat in which we found the following issues:
1) water tanks contaminated with diesel fuel with related bad smell not only in the water, but also in the bathrooms and cabins.
2) the anemometer in the cockpit was not working;
3) the air conditioning in the dinette area was inefficient.
Right from the start therefore we had the inconvenience of not being able to use the water on the boat and at the same time at the Raiatea Marina Base, the bathrooms and showers were dirty, malfunctioning, without hot water and lights. We sent photos to Dream Yacht but they replied that it was not their responsibility.
On the morning of Sunday, August 11, we were supposed to set sail at dawn but so we could not leave because of the contaminated water problem, and the Dream Yacht team started working to fix the problem. The anemometer was repaired and the water tanks were flushed several times until the afternoon, however, the water continued to have a bad fuel smell throughout the two-week cruise. The crew was deeply disappointed with the problems and inconveniences suffered right from the start, and we were all frustrated with the loss of the first day of the cruise because the work was finished around 3 pm. In the meantime, we took steps to buy many bottles of water, not only for drinking but also for cooking and washing fruits, vegetables the dishes with increased expenses to our charge. In the end we set sail in the late afternoon without air conditioning in the dinette and with the water somewhat less contaminated but still smelly, which was not good for the crew's health. To counter water contamination, throughout the cruise, we were forced to use the desalinator a lot, consuming much more diesel than expected in the hope of having less polluted water and improving the situation, but in vain. This also resulted in increased costs to us. After a few days the anchor stopped working, which made it difficult for us to choose where to stop at sea. Since we had to have sheets and towels changed, we returned to the Base to have this problem fixed as well so they replaced the remote control. Halfway through our vacation in Bora Bora, one of the two water pumps stopped and we continued the cruise with only one working water pump. On the evening of August 22 in Bora Bora, the second water pump also stopped working so that instead of the evening of August 23, we returned directly to base in the morning because we were completely without water.
For all the above reasons, the cruise was partly compromised, the crew suffered much inconvenience and loss of time as they were unable to enjoy two full days of the cruise: part of the first day and part of the last day, so we asked for compensation. Unfortunately, we were denied by asserting that on the evening of the penultimate day of the cruise when the base was closed, we did not report damage in a timely manner that did not affect navigation, but did so the next morning by returning to the base ahead of time, since we were with both water pumps not working. We also had insurance that covered any damage so it is not clear what the difference is in having made a communication in the morning directly to port instead of the night before while the base was closed. This was not an emergency because navigation was safely insured. This is obviously an excuse so our experience is to be considered NEGATIVE and we do not recommend anyone to rely on Dream Yacht.

I have chartered sailboats at least 15 times. Hands down the worst experience ever, Thank goodness Montenegro was AWESOME. To begin our debacle, we chartered the Cat for 10 days. Had signed contract for months. They emailed later and said we couldn't have the boat for 10 days, but only 7. Tried to argue about signed contract, they basically said tough and too bad and if we continued, they would cancel charter entirely. Then we arrived already disappointed. There was literally NO chart briefing. First time ever on a charter. In fact we sent them an entire itinerary seeking their advice prior to arriving, they said that couldn't(wouldn't comment, seriously)?
The list of issues;
1 They asked our shoe size for fins when we chartered. We assumed it was because they were gonna supply snorkel gear. They had 3 sets of fins/mask/snorkels on boat, random sizes. That's it. Many had their own they could have brought.
2 The Port side bathrooms had water on floor. They coolant care less. Later they explained to us that to drain water from floor, turn on faucet to start floor pumps.
Any easy fix that they didnt bother to tell us when we were concerned
3 The salon table was broken, we discovered this on our first day as we tried to convert it to a bed and it fell apart. This was the ONLY time they helped us. They actually sent someone to fix. Two bathroom door handles fell off every time u went to open door. They fixed one when they came out, not the other.
4 We rented internet(extra charge) We asked if it worked in sailing area, said they had no idea) we tried it for 35 Euro anyway. Worked for one day. When we pulled into a harbor and plugged into shore power after about 36 hours, it never worked the rest of trip and we had NO outlets for for days so couldn't use anyway. When asked how to fix the outlets, they hadn't a clue. When we returned to base, they found a fuse had "popped" A fuse box that was hidden and they never told us about during boat introduction. They showed us other fuses. Seems to me someone from base should have been able to tell us about this issue and how to fix while we were on the move. We had to share a few USB ports to charges our phones so we could take photos. They refused to refund the 35 Euros for hotspot which we obviously couldn't use without outlets and it hadn't worked before that. :(
5 The stern of the boat floor was filthy!!!!
6 The dinghy gas can was a joke. It had NO air hole so trying to fill dinghy was quite difficult without spillage. Every other dinghy I'ver ever had was supplied with a 2.5 gallon gas tank so one could easily see when needed more. His motor had about a 2 quart gas(generous estimate) tank hidden under engine cover so had to check it every day and try to fill with a ridiculous gas can
7 We woke up one morning to 65 knot winds and pouring rain sideways and lightening. The base did not warn us of impending storm and heard nothing on the radio. We went to look for foul weather gear, Yup, U guessed it NONE. First boat EVER without two sets. During the storm, three moorings in the cove where we were staying in dragged boats 100 M. One boat decided to disconnect from the dragging mooring at our bough and as he cut across our bow, he clipped our boat. This cause the mooring line(from mooring) to snap. We spent the next 2-3 hours motoring into the wind until we could find another mooring to try. After storm passed, one of the taxis came out to us to see how we were. We reported what happened. A few hours later, the taxi was taking photos of our bow. We asked him why. He told us Dream yacht charters wanted photos. So they knew our plight and their only concern seemed to be the boat. The NEVER contacted us to warn us of storm OR to check on our safety after!!!!!!!! Even the captain of the boat that hit us returned to check on us after he left that bay!!!!
Luckily they concluded we had no fault as the mooring line(from mooring broke) and another boat hit us.
There was more, but I hope u get the point!

We got a Lagoon 62, which is bigger than I was expecting and the captain and cook were both very professional and also very engaging and fun. Exumas has the most amazing seascape I've ever seen and other highlights such as the swimming pigs, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, the sunken airplane, and some truly beautiful swimming, beach and snorkel stops.

“Ruined holiday”
We had booked a week in catamaran in the Maldives since December 2023, it is only two days before the departure advised us to have problems with the government for which the boats could not sail simply absurd !!!!! They offered us alternative trips to decide in 48 h for the Caribbean, among other things at the same price with unacceptable flights. Semplice and absolutely at all professional have ruined the holidays to be not recommended

“4 years is end of life for a DYC boat.”
We had a 4 year old Bali 5.4 from DYC in Raiatea. Most things technically worked, but the boat was clearly on it's last leg, after just 4 years mind you.
Battery would run the fridge for ~4-5 hours before dropping to 10V, most instruments were flaky and miscalibrated, one of the AC units was dead, sail was set up completely wrong even after they noticed it during checkout and send someone to fix is, etc, list goes on.
Was a bareboat charter, so the forpeak skipper cabins were not cleaned, with urine on the floor. Which was promptly addressed when we asked. Overall cleaning as "surface only", that boat clearly never saw a deep clean or a full end-season maintenance in it's 4 short years.
The staff at the base is nice and helpful, but at the end of the day they are doing a corporate job on a clock, with a checklist, and some finance officer's idea about adequate staffing. Goal seems clearly to keep corporate happy with lot's of "it works" boxes checked, not to present a good boat. It shows.

It was a great trip - we were lucky with our fellow travelers, the Captain and Steward were extraordinary, the itinerary was good. Our only complaint was that the AC in our cabins was turned off at 10pm, leaving them quite hot.

Couldn't give less then 1 star which they don't even deserve. Horrible company horrible customer service. Have used them twice and both time was extremely disappointed. Do yourself a favor and find anouther charter company.

“Great experience in the DYC Exuma cruise”
We had a great time on the Cat 620 Lagoon in the Bahamas. The rooms were very clean, and the food was great. We were lucky with the staff and other guests. Points for improvement: besides a chef and capt, it would be great to have someone in service for cleaning, or at least at any of the stops. The info provided on the boat (briefings on day activities) could’ve had more details.

“Avoid!!”
Chartered Catana 55 in Tahiti in April, the boat was poorly maintained and we spent hours in the bilge fixing water pressure, steering and water maker problems. Truly the boat was unsafe and we almost returned the 2nd day when the steering failed. The roof was damaged and leaked in the rain, the mainsail wouldn't fully raise and was covered in mold. Galley was ill stocked without even a toaster which in the ad said it did have. The port side head didn't work, fuel line to dinghy had no clamp and kept falling off spilling fuel, low battery alarm Stbd side constantly sounding off, Stbd helm seat broken, propane tank ran out 2nd day which we replaced for $38 and no compensation, had to turn off the tank after each use. The beds had a single old sheet and towels were old... the boat smelled of mold and was only 10 years old. With all the issues we had to work on daily you'd think DreamYacht would have made some kind of compensation, but nothing, not even an apology! We used Conch Charters in the BVI;'s a year prior and they were excellent and the boat was amazing so do your shopping and read reviews!

The boat , Bali 4.5 in the Bahamas was excellent (a few tech glitches-fresh water maker not working, one of the heads problematic) but overall superb. Our captain, Ron, was truly a wonderful person. he helped us make the most our 4 days, and spent a lot of time explaining the boat systems, how to handle her under sail and motor, anchoring and mooring, and where to go. Overall, a fantastic experience, and one we'd like to do again.

We had an absolutely amazing experience on Lagoon 620 in French Polynesia! First and foremost, the crew were incredible. Ange made sure to make our vacation absolutely memorable. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure he knew our preferences ahead of time and tailored our trip accordingly. He took us fishing, hiking, snorkeling, found restaurants for us, etc. Most importantly, when our onboard desalination system broke (a few times), he spent hours fixing it, and calling in a crew to make sure it was functioning. Mina, our chef, was also amazing! She has such a wonderful demeanor, and was always ready with the most delicious meals, even at 5am when we woke up! We also thank Hinano for his quiet and amazing work behind the scenes making sure our experience was seamless, our cabins were spotless and always jumping in to help with everything that needed attention. We've already talked about coming back for another great vacation - and would insist on the same great crew! We've also already looked into doing another 12 Knots vacation in Europe.

“NIGHTMARE YACHT CHARTER”
Unprofessional Operation – Plenty of Alternatives
A group of six of us chartered a five cabin Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 for seven days in January 2023 from Dream Yacht Charter QLD and encountered many boat problems along with unprofessional & hostile charter management.
1. Lost a day because the generator was faulty. Partly because of this, the boat briefing was spasmodic and disjointed (briefer claimed first time to brief on this boat) as he was also dealing with the tender’s fuel tank not being full, replacing the missing ice chest, filling the boats water tank and agreeing the BBQ was unclean but didn’t have the time to address it.
2. Rain leak in starboard saloon and the boat was delivered with tarpaulin that had to be rearranged to slow the leaks. (Cushions sodden wet, had to be stripped and dried over following 2 days)
3. Dead and live cockroaches in cabins, saloon, and cockpit (6 instances)
4. Main outhaul was chaffed, unsafe to the extent we stopped using the sail.
5. Forward port cabin hatch also taped up to prevent rain from entering.
6. Shore power leads (all three connectors) were full of water and tripped the dock relay. We had to disassemble, dried and taped with plastic. (QYC accuses we dropped in the water, we did not)
7. 2 x AC’s not working (stern port cabin front saloon unit) and both fail to cool air.
There were several other more debatable issues but given Dream Yacht Charter’s blameless responses and complete unwillingness to take any responsibility we let these issues speak for themselves.
We were offered a refund for 1 ½ days rental, which we declined in preference for sharing our experience in the hope others reconsider using such a shoddy operator as Dream Yacht Charter their other brand, QYC (Queensland Yacht Charters)

“Big disappointment”
Wouldn't recommend -- ever. We arrived at Port Louis and our 5 year old Lagoon 52 was a BIG disappointment. The two forward fo'c'sle berths were totally unusable because of strong mold and a leak in one of them. One fuel gauge was broken, one fresh water tank gauge was broken, and the VHF radio did not transmit. This was totally unacceptable equipment failures, and had we not been sailing with another boat that couldn't spend time waiting for repairs, I would have insisted that these systems be repaired before we left. Accidentally left my hand-held VHF aboard when we left and the staff never "found" it after repeated calls and a friend searching the boat.
Overall staff, including Gabby and Hiro were friendly and responsive I must say but for the price of the charter to have these issues unresolved before leaving was not cool. Not likely to use this charter outfit again.
“Awful Charter Company”
Absolutely the worst cruise ever! If you’re reading this, you’re likely considering Dream Yacht Charters (DYC) for a charter. I’ve been sailing for a long time and my best advice is to find another company…no matter how good DYC sounds, YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM. There is a detailed Terms and Conditions (T&C Contract) for their charters, that apparently only apply if it is in their favor. We did a ‘Cabin Charter’ from Nassau to the Exumas (Bahamas). There were several things that the booking agents and charter operators disregarded that ruined our trip. 1) Our cruise was ruined by a screaming 2.5 year old brat that threw screaming tantrums several times a day. The parents were unfamiliar with any form of discipline. All of the DYC descriptive information indicated it was an ‘Adults Only’ cruise. Their home office even admitted they discouraged booking young children. However, the agent who booked the screaming-kid-family said it was a “Family Friendly” cruise. The disruption in the peace desired when sailing was complete. DYC actually has a written policy in their T&C Contract (Clause 8.5: “The Captain will disembark any Passenger whose behavior could endanger or seriously inconvenience other Passengers…”). Even though the Captain was completely aware of the negative impact of the child’s disruptive behavior, he took no action (likely because they would have had to reimburse the charter fee) and all of the other passengers were seriously impacted by the child’s behavior. You may think you can ask the agent if there are any kids onboard, but their answer means nothing because of the potential for late bookings and they can move you to a different boat as they desire and without any consultation with you. 2) There were 2 non-meat eaters aboard our trip. DYC is supposed to provision adequately to accommodate any dietary needs of their passengers… which they did not do. As a result, the 2 non-meat eaters were given a majority of the fish rations intended for everyone else. There was an opportunity at our first stop to acquire appropriate provisions, but the Captain and cook did not do so. The non-meat eaters ate well and the rest of us did not. 3) The departure on our voyage was delayed by several hours while we waited for someone who never showed up. We never actually caught up on the intended schedule because of the delay. Once again, DYC actually has a written policy in their T&C Contract (Clause 9. 6: “If Charterer is not present at the time of Embarkation… this will be treated as a cancellation of reservation… the Charterer will lose its entire charter fee.”) There was no word from the missing passengers that they would be arriving late, but we waited anyway. 4) We were told by the booking agent that we would have first choice of cabins, as they are supposedly assigned in the order of booking for the cruise. This was confirmed as the policy by the DYC Customer service office. However, the Captain decided to assign cabins by raffle. We got LAST choice. 5) The agents indicated COVID vaccination status would be checked at the base (all passengers were required to be vaccinated). This check was never performed and as we learned later one of the passengers had been ill with COVID less than a week earlier. Again, DYC did not hold to their verbally stated policy. There were several other issues that affected our enjoyment of the trip. In summary, the DYC policies (written or verbal) are easily disregarded by them and apparently only apply if it is their interest to enforce them. AVOID THIS COMPANY. There are many other good quality charter companies and, as I discovered recently when looking for a bareboat to charter, the DYC prices were higher for the exact same boat at the exact same period. They screw you on both the price and service provided. Their “Customer Service” apparently only exists to defend their actions and not to provide any actual service to a customer.

This company is the worst! Chartered a monohull out of the Bahamas. There were bedbugs in our boat and they did nothing about it! Nothing! Filthy boat, everything rattled, head broken, moldy mattress.

So after purchasing a 2021 Bali 5.4 thru Dream Yacht Group (Dream Yachts Charter, Dream Yacht Sales) and finding out after 7+ Months of trying to get them to approve warranty work to be repaired I have come to the realization that they care more about their bottom line than any of their customers and leave those holding the bill. Stay clear of these guys. I have included two of my many issues with my new boat that they continue to drag their feet on in hopes that I will just go away and eat the coat of the repairs that are clearly warranty issues. Missing bottom paint and many other issues. Not going to happen. I’d love to post my website but I can’t. A simple search for Dreamyacht Fraud will show more information 1 star to 2 too many
“Worst Travel Experience Ever!!!!”
Worst travel experience ever! DO NOT use this company, zero integrity. We were left on the dock before the boat even left due to the agent selling us a trip that we were told we shouldn't have been sold, after flying all the way to BVI! Not only were we out the cost of the charter, but flights, time, the cost of additional flights home, etc. The company is refusing to refund our money, and conveniently, the agent is "no longer there." We have had to contact our attorney to resolve. Horrible company and management. I have been in the incentive travel business for 25 years and have never experience such a mess, I would certainly never let my clients use this company.

BE CAUTIOUS WHEN CHARTERING from Dream Yacht Charter, La Paz MX - APRIL 2021 Please be careful when bareboat chartering from Dream Yacht Charters (La Paz) or from anywhere for that matter, due to the potential for breakdowns and loss of charter days. When we arrived in La Paz, my family and I were excited in anticipation of sailing the Sea of Cortez after a 1 year delay due to the pandemic. After checking in at Dream Yacht Charter's (DYC) office in Marina Costa Baja on Sunday, 4/18 we began the orientation and boat checkout. We quickly learned of several problems that needed to be fixed before we could accept the boat, Camano, a 2018 Lagoon 52 catamaran. It was important that everything worked properly because there is no cell phone coverage in "about 70% of the sailing area", and the VHF emergency channel 16 is often unreliable and should not be counted on. As the former owner/operator of a sailing charter company, I have experience with boats which, in salt water, are subject to frequent and often significant failures. Over the next 4 days we discovered several more equipment failures that delayed our charter from Monday morning until Thursday afternoon including a faulty bilge pump and emergency tiller that did not work. The tiller was corroded and would not fit into the receiving device that is needed to operate the rudder manually, an unacceptable condition should the steering linkage fail. The base manager and dock mechanics worked diligently to make repairs and get us out of the dock, the manager extended our charter by one day, and scheduled a captain at their cost to resolve any potential equipment failures that might arise, which was appreciated and needed. However, we still lost 3 days net that we paid for in advance. As it stands now, we have requested a refund for the 3 days we were stuck at the dock during which time a properly operating vessel was not available for our enjoyment. We paid $12,571 (US) for what they consider a 12 day/11 night period. As we actually had a properly functioning boat available for just 9 days/8 nights, we have requested a pro rata refund of $3,142 (US). A detailed report has been submitted to Dream Yacht Charter and their broker, Ed Hamilton and Co, along with the request for a refund of the lost days. I will post the results of their response as soon as it is known.
“DYC Bottom Line More Important Than Clients”
I had booked a bareboat sailing adventure with Dream Yacht Charters in the USVI for this month (May 2021) and had an unexpected acute health event that necessitated cancellation of this trip. I requested a refund due to medical issues and was denied. Dream Yacht Charters were not even willing to let me book at a later date. Apparently, the management at Dream Yacht Charters has made the decision that they need my $4,000 more than I do for my ongoing medical testing expenses. Dream Yacht Charters has followed their cancellation policy to the letter, but has squandered the opportunity to do what is right for a potential repeat client. Had Dream Yacht Charters made a different decision, then they would have had a loyal client who would be an ambassador for their brand. Instead, management has shown that their bottom line is more important than their clients. When my health issues are resolved and I book my next sailing adventure, it will NOT be with Dream Yacht Charters.

Everything was fantastic! We had a few issues with the boat and the Dream Yacht Charter crew had to come out 3 separate times to fix them but they were super responsive and resolved all problems. We're already looking for a charter to book for 2021!
