“Disappointing Yacht Charter”
Extremely disappointed with the standard of the Beneteau Oceanis chartered in Asia via Discover Sailing Asia. The yacht was presented with a missing transom ( One was taken from another yacht or provide a jury rig system which was not ideal) The saloon instrument display for fuel, battery and water was not working. All guard lines were damaged and unsafe.there was no mast head or anchor lights. The generator, main engine and outboard motor all failed in the first two days which meant a couple of days at anchor in the harbour whilst these issues were rectified. However, we were left with an ongoing problem with the alternator not providing enough power to run fridge, air conditioning or adequately lift the anchor. A crew member had to dive below to clean the propeller so the speed log would work. In all honesty the list is endless but the most disappointing fact is that after returning yacht to the marina there has been zero communication with the company with no apology or even acknowledgement of the issues encountered
