Crewed yacht by the cabin charter Corsica South

Corsica is the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, located west of Italy, to the east of France and the north of the island of Sardinia. Geographically, the island belongs to Italy, but politically is one of the 26 regions of France, separated from the mainland by the Ligurian Sea. Language, architecture and cuisine of the island has long been influenced by neighboring Italy, Corsica so often called "the French a part of Italy."

Corsica has mild climate, turquoise sea, a rare beauty of the underwater world, rich vegetation and beautiful beaches. Your sailing trip will start from Ajaccio (Ajaccio) - a city founded genuezstsami, the city, the birthplace of Napoleon. There is a museum Fesch, ranks second in France after the Louvre in the number of Italian paintings collected.

During your sailing vacation in South Corsica you will visit a lot of nice cities and historical places that will amaze you with their beauty and monumentality. In the evening after mooring in some nice marina you will be able to visit local bars, restaurants and street cafes.

While on moorings you will be able to use different equipment for water activities provided on board of the catamaran: snorkeling equipment, sea kayak, fishing gear. While during the passages crew wil serve you some snaks and beverages including soft drinks and wines.

Ajaccio

Citadels and fortresses

Genoese domination can be clearly identified by a variety of fortifications on the island. Majestic citadel of Bastia, Calvi and Bonifacio are now surrounded with leisurely cafes, antique shops and artistic workshops, but from the sea they still strike our imagination with their harsh rock power. Remarkable specimens of past era are the Nonza torew on the Cape Corsica and tower of Capitello in the Gulf of Ajaccio. Bastion Court – is the most rare example of the past, built by medieval squires of Corsica.

Filitosa area – is a huge park of prehistoric settlement discovered in 1975. Here you can find spherical stone cave houses - dolmens, fortifications, and lump-statues of ancient warriors - mengers and Park of "dinosaurs" (bulk of blackened boulders that look like fossil giants when viewed from different angles). Park is on the list of UNESCO world inheritance and dates back to around 6000 BC. e. (Entrance is only 6 Euros).

Corsica – is a great place for mountain hiking. Mountain chain consists of twenty peaks over 2 thousand meters above sea level.  Monte Cynthia (2710 m) is one of the most picturesque mountains wiht many trails good for hiking and horseback riding. Local equestrian centers offer both hourly walks and routes for the whole day. You may also chose to partake in other outdoors activities: swimming, kayaking around the Cape of Corsica, fishing, scuba diving, trekking around the island (by foot or horse) and canoeing on the mountain rivers.

Diving

Corsica has a number of diving sites. On the eastern coast near the village of Campoloro you can find sank Alicone ship (object length - 54 meters, depth - 35 meters) released in 1915. In the area of Ajaccio near Cape Castagna you can find a 60-meter vessel La Meuliere build in 1918, laying only 11 meters below the surface, in the Gulf of Mortoli a twin-engine aircraft Vickers Viking can be found. Many sites in the vicinity of Bonifacio near lle Cavallo islands, offer diving and places for underwater filming. Here you can find large groupers, schools of barracuda and red corals.
