Introduction

History rich Malta and Sicily welcome you for your next small ship cruise adventure. The unique and varied peninsulas of both countries offer a natural playground to be best experienced by a small ship, and so we have designed the ultimate itinerary for you to experience the destinations we visit in depth, always keeping in mind your comfort and safety. Rising out of the cobalt-blue seas off Sicily's northeastern coast, the Unesco-protected Aeolian Islands (Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi and Alicudi) are a little piece of paradise, a seven-island archipelago offering a wealth of opportunities for relaxation and outdoor fun. Stunning waters provide sport for swimmers, sailors, kayakers and divers, while trekkers can climb hissing volcanoes and gourmets can sip honey-sweet Malvasia wine.

Day 1 Valetta

Valetta

Enjoy a welcome drink on board, and a chance to settle in as well as meet your crew and fellow passengers. Overnight in port before we set sail on our adventure the following morning.

Day 2 Gozo Island

In the morning, the boat sets sail from Valetta port towards Malta’s beloved Gozo Island, renowned for the Ggantija temples. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites are some of the oldest free-standing megalithic structures in the world, dating back 5,500 years. Start your day with a refreshing swim in the calm Maltese waters before enjoying lunch on board. Early in the afternoon, we’ll reach Gozo Island, where you'll have free time to explore and dine ashore. After dinner, the ship will depart Gozo, heading towards the stunning island of Sicily.

Day 3 Syracuse

Early morning arrival in the port of Syracuse. Syracuse, one of the most and prestigious cities of the Hellenic World, was a rival of Athens. Our morning optional excursion will bring us to the spectacular 15,000-seat Greek theatre, the elliptical Roman amphitheater, the Archaeological Museum, the Temple of Apollo, the Fountain of Aretusa, and the Cathedral, which incorporates the remains of the famed Temple of Athena. After lunch you can take our afternoon optional excursion taking you inland, into Sicily’s southeast region, known for its baroque towns. You will visit exquisitely-preserved Noto, a jewel of a town situated on plateau. In the evening we leave Syracuse for the Aeolian Islands. Overnight at sea.

Day 4 Lipari island

Lipari island

Morning arrival in Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands, sitting on the red volcanic rock looking like a “wall of bronze”, according to the Greek poet Homer. Archaeological remains found here have yielded clues to civilizations which date back to 1700 BC, including the Neolithic stones that sit alongside ancient tombstones, and ruins of Greek walls and Roman villas. The Spaniards found their way here in the 16th century, building the Castello (castle) and the 17th century cathedral that is perched above the harbor; All these sights will be available for seeing them on your morning optional sightseeing excursion. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Lipari.

Day 5 Lipari island

Lipari island

After breakfast, you can join optional tour to Quattrochi Belvedere, Quattropani, and Lipari Castle. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on your own. At 7:30 PM, take part in our complimentary Wine Tasting Experience, where you’ll savor a delightful selection of Italian and Greek wines, setting the stage for a sumptuous four-course dinner on board. We will spend the night cruising at sea.

Day 6 Catania

Catania

Catania, located on the eastern coast of Sicily, is a vibrant city rich in history, culture, and dramatic landscapes. Nestled at the foot of Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, Catania offers a unique blend of ancient and modern charm. Sailing into Catania provides stunning views of the volcanic landscape and access to the city’s bustling port. Visitors can explore the city's baroque architecture, lively markets, and historic sites such as the Roman Amphitheater and Piazza del Duomo.

Day 7 Catania

Catania is also a gateway to Mount Etna, where you can hike or take guided tours to experience the volcano’s raw power. It’s an exciting stop for sailors seeking culture, history, and adventure in Sicily.

Day 8 Valetta

We arrive in Valetta at 7:30 AM. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with your fellow travelers. Your Cruise Manager will be available to assist with your pre-booked transfers.

Cruise reviews

Customer reviews for the company operating the cruise

How customer reviews and ratings work

We use the Average with Prior (also known as Bayesian Average) to calculate the total rating for each sailing cruise

Since new cruises could have very few reviews, each review can significantly impact the average score, potentially leading to misleading representations of the total score (e.g., one very positive or very negative review skewing the overall rating). To mitigate this, we use a "prior" or "default" score.

This means that each cruise, by default, starts with a rating of 4, which is calculated from 5 hypothetical reviews, each rated 4. This assumption provides a baseline level of performance that is neutral-to-positive.

For example, if a new cruise receives a 5-star review, the total rating will be adjusted to 4.17. Here's how it is calculated: (4 × 5) + 5 = 25 and then divided by the total number of reviews 6 (5 default + 1 actual review), resulting in 4.17

As more reviews come in, the weight of the actual reviews increases, and the influence of the prior diminishes.
