“Do NOT charter with this company”
If you are looking for a fair, reliable boat to enjoy and to be safe these boats from Malta Charters are all the opposite. We had a 2019 Dufour (pleasent company) and from a not working position light(bulb was exchanged but batterie died around midnight on only! this light running), toilets didn’t work properly (eather tank couldn’t be drained or on the other side tank couldn’t be closed), control panel was not working properly( fuel level stayed at full the whole time, so we had no idea how much fuel left, position light only went on together with the navigation lights), second anchor had no attachment to a rope, fire extinguisher had to be replaced on our request, no emergency tools on board. Overall the boat was in a extremely used state. Also the owner doesn’t help you if you have troubles on your trip. You have to come back to Kalkara if you have problems, so we couldn’t go to Sicely as planned because of the fuel, light and toilet issues, he just says it’s up to you to stick with the trouble or come back, because it’s all the customers fault…. The only good experience was his really nice and friendly staff. That’s what the one star stands for.

Do I need sailing or boating license for the bareboat charter?
In most of the regions, like the Caribbean, South-East Asia, Oceania, no special sailing documents are needed for the bareboat charter. The only thing you need to provide is your sailing resume, so that the base manager can see if you are qualified enough to rent Dufour 360 GL - 3 cab. Sailing yacht in Malta. Once you get the approval, you are good to go.
On the other hand for bareboat charter in Europe and some other countries you have to provide internationally recognized sailing certificates like: IYT Bareboat Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104 plus IPC. Ask booking manager for the requirements. Detailed information here: BBC things to know
