Austria“Once and never”
Once and never again! From June 3rd to 9th June 2023 I chartered a Dufour 430 from the FA DN-Nautica. When I did the paperwork, I was surprisingly informed that for "bank reasons" my deposit IHV € 2000 would be closed for a month. At my protest it was said that when I return on Saturday, I could ask for the lock to be lifted on Saturday. Preduction: I also did what it was said that the lock could only be lifted the following Monday ... I had booked an Early Check in and the boat was not finished around 1300. The handover could only be started shortly before 1400. The handover was very clean, with it agreed that the sails would only be checked by me after the wind afterwards. Since the large sail could only be used by the joint effort of 3 men and the Traveler with the help of the Winch, I turned to DN Nautic on Sunday. With the Iosip responsible, I agreed that on Monday I would start the Hafen Mali Losinj and send a mechanic there. The mechanic came around 1:00 p.m., brought senseless silicone spray for the riders of the Groß and spent almost 4 hours with a 2 man of my crew to get the linen guide of the traveler in order. After that I was allowed to wait until after 1700 and then buy Teflon spray for the clamping riders at my own expense. In short: I had lost a whole day because of an inadequately waited boat! Apart from that, used underwear from the pre -crew appeared during Sunday. It should be noted that there was also a lot of hair from this crew. This confronted DN Nautica that nothing had happened at all and that a claim for damages on my part in no way existed and that the damage would have been remedied independently and immediately. I should have really had the envoy mechanic work alone: I would still be in Mali Losinj or the pods and the Traveler suffered serious damage! I assess the handling of the FA with customers as "from above" and seriously unsuitable for service operations. To declare a customer to be stupid to make your own failure (or are you so saturated that you no longer need work?) Is last class. I can only recommend every skipper not to miss anything when handing over and to check everything immediately. After more than 20 years of sailing, I say: DN Nautica - once and never again!

Do I need sailing or boating license for the bareboat charter?
In most of the regions, like the Caribbean, South-East Asia, Oceania, no special sailing documents are needed for the bareboat charter. The only thing you need to provide is your sailing resume, so that the base manager can see if you are qualified enough to rent Bavaria 50 Cruiser Sailing yacht in Croatia. Once you get the approval, you are good to go.
On the other hand for bareboat charter in Europe and some other countries you have to provide internationally recognized sailing certificates like: IYT Bareboat Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104 plus IPC. Ask booking manager for the requirements. Detailed information here: BBC things to know
