Belgium“Bad experience”
Very bad experience! Bad reception and no help at departure. And they charge you extra cost when you come back. They take it from deposit! Our boat was: Captain Blue Bavaria virtesse from Sibenic. We had a problem with the passerelle but we made an agreement that they didn’t have to send a technician and we could return later by 1 pm. We came in around 1 pm and they started to check the boat. A diver came and we had to pay extra 600 kuna because he had to work after 12. We didn’t know that , no one told us . And a deal is a deal. Then he saw a little cap was missing at the propeller . They said we did it but we didn’t get a status from the boat when we left . So how can we know we did it … They charged us 960 kuna for this. And when we left, a screw immediately came off from the roof frame … we fixed it ourself with a rope… they didn’t charge us for that but things can happen when you navigate without doing anything wrong.

Do I need sailing or boating license for the bareboat charter?
In most of the regions, like the Caribbean, South-East Asia, Oceania, no special sailing documents are needed for the bareboat charter. The only thing you need to provide is your sailing resume, so that the base manager can see if you are qualified enough to rent Bavaria 36 Cruiser Sailing yacht in Croatia. Once you get the approval, you are good to go.
On the other hand for bareboat charter in Europe and some other countries you have to provide internationally recognized sailing certificates like: IYT Bareboat Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104 plus IPC. Ask booking manager for the requirements. Detailed information here: BBC things to know
