“Everything is good except electricians.”
About Elite Charters: the Germans control the company, which of course creates a certain positive imprint, i.e. The attitude of the charter is the client is very close to Europe, but it's still Thailand, which imposes a number of his moments (a similar situation in many countries where charter cannot attract technicians). By the way, their fleet is cheaper in places than DYC in the same Marina, it makes sense to compare. He took Toy Boy, Jimmy Blue, Funny, and the guest was on Amelie. By the way, I strongly recommend that Toy Boy look if the skipper is without a cabin (in the Toy Boy 2 configuration, 1 large galine for 1 on the float, and not on the cabin). Main problem: Maintenance of electricians! All 3 times that I took catamarans there, I had problems with an electrician. Either the contacts on the generator rotted and fell off, then the batteries were killed, then the power of power to the devices went away, then the generator suddenly caught fire (snot and tears). Acceptance problems were a couple of times, but were eliminated. You can ask (and give) a diesel cancer in reserve (it is better to take on Amelie), all sorts of uglons, etc. no problem. In general, the guys are normal, friendly. The manager there is an excellent lady of Mellis - she is right honor and praise. Friendly, without additional nagers, will be happy to conduct a briefing in place. There are still those. The manager Ulrich, and not everything is so simple with him ... Thailand ruined him, the dude sometimes happens with Budona, a couple of times he dragged on with a check, in my opinion, he was fired, but not sure. About the fleet: Exactly! Necessarily! Anyway! Take a boat with a desalinator. There is almost no infrastructure in TAI, you can only refuel in Krabi and the PHI PHI, and the matter is not simple, but the heat and water is such that the guests will always desire the souls! Air conditioning will greatly facilitate your life. About Marina: Marina is great! There are gorgeous showers, a restaurant, a convenient entrance to the pantons, carts for the argument of products and other small joys. There are also a couple of stores with inaccessible prices. Separately: be vigilant at the output/output from Marina - there is a chic bank and generally the fairway is not simple, especially in tide. Carefully study the Laws, especially if you go on a monocorpus with a lot of sediment. About communication: Simka can be taken straight at the airport. The coating is GJXNB throughout the water area. If you go very far, just raise the modem under the first redspick in some kind of bag and you will be LTE :) Summary: good, but I didn’t compare with others. In 2020, I wanted to try DYC in the same Marina, the price is more expensive, a deposit is 8000 (yes Karl 8000), but because of Covid they moved everything to 2021 ... We will see.

Do I need sailing or boating license for the bareboat charter?
In most of the regions, like the Caribbean, South-East Asia, Oceania, no special sailing documents are needed for the bareboat charter. The only thing you need to provide is your sailing resume, so that the base manager can see if you are qualified enough to rent Bavaria 33 Cruiser Sailing yacht in Thailand. Once you get the approval, you are good to go.
On the other hand for bareboat charter in Europe and some other countries you have to provide internationally recognized sailing certificates like: IYT Bareboat Skipper, RYA Day Skipper, ASA 104 plus IPC. Ask booking manager for the requirements. Detailed information here: BBC things to know
