      Sailboat regatta

Sailboat racing – is not just a sport, but is a really exciting adventure! Due to the great number of sailing regattas that take place almost all around the world throughout the year, you have chance to choose from different events considering the place, time and complexity level of the race. All sailing regattas can be divided into two groups:

Professional sailboat racing – a sport of high achievements and advanced technologies. These sail races are prepared for years and owner of the team choose the best sailors. The best-known professional sailing regattas are: America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race, single-handed race – Vendee Globe, or The Transat. To take part in any of these sailing events not being a professional sportsman is almost impossible, because every crewmember is like a top manager in corporation where no beginners, or extra weight is needed. The only chance take part in professional sailboat racing is to purchase your own performance yacht and create your own team. But still, if you are willing to try how tough you are, we can offer you to join professional crew on performance yacht Volvo 70 «Kasatka» - pure adrenaline and unforgettable experience guaranteed.

Amateur regattas – these sailing races are open to virtually everyone, from professional yachtsmen, amateur sailors. The variety of these types of events is huge, starting from the region, and the number of racing boats, to level of complexity. The best known are: Heineken Regatta - one of the oldest sailing races in the Caribbean, annually hosts more than 250 yachts and crews from around the world. Marmaris International Race Week or MIRW is the second larges and most popular sailing race, annually held in Turkey in October, King's Cup Regatta held in Thailand on the island of Phuket in December, or the Greek offshore sailing race - Rhodes Cup and so on.

Learn to race sailboats – are the events for young sailors, sailing school graduates who just learn the basics of sailing racing skills. The great advantage of amateur sailing competitions is that you have an opportunity not only to race but, to learn the sailing race basics and rules: find the right starting point, pass buoys, set up spinnaker and to protest. All of this can be done under the supervision of professional race skippers who would help to correct main mistakes and bring you to a new level of racing skills. One of these sailing events can be found in Croatia – Spring Cup Regatta annually held in Split area, first week of May.
